beauty alert!
1) Kérastase Nutritive Bain Oleo Relax Shampoo 250ml (approx price US$ 27) ****
- great shamppo to tame dry and frizzy hair, i don't need to use conditioner after it...
2) Wellaflex Mousse
- i use it before blowdrying and straightening my hair, followed with a serum...there's only one thing i can say, i swear by wella products!3) Maria Dowling Mini m Hair Straightener (Dhs 380 available in Harvey Nichols) ***
i'm still loyal to braun satin ion straightener...but i'll still be using it since its easy to use on short hair and handy when travelling...visit her website www.mariadowling.com they do amazing colours, highlights and cuts...i went there for colour and cut once and i came out of their spa like salon feeling and looking a million dollar...you gotta book in advance tho' as their waiting list takes weeks if not months!
4) Strivectin SD 2 fl. oz. (Dhs 408) ***
this isn't the first time i'm using this product as i bought one before to try on (i actually got a 6 fl.oz. which was around Dhs600) i kind of impulsively bought it after reading great reviews on how effective this stretch mark cream is on minimizing wrinkles... and so i used it on my mom :D but i didn't really use it continuously so now im keeping this little tube close to me all the time and try to use it 3x a day on stretch marks!!!
5) La Prairie Creme Cellular Radiance Moisturiser 50ml (US$ 570) ***
another anti-ageing cream...been using this for a month now, it feels greasy...too soon to tell if its working on my wrinkles :D - but i love the packaging and the cute silver spoon that came along with it! if i had to buy an anti-ageing cream i would still prefer Givenchy Le Soin Noir - i had a sample when i bought Givenchy Absolutely Irresistable perf and i loved how it felt on my skin...

- another anti-ageing staple...i use it after #6 just before applying my make-up....

- great coverage and good concealer

"Everything"
I can be an asshole of the grandest kind
I can withhold like it's going out of style
I can be the moodiest baby and you've never met anyone
Who is as negative as I am sometimes
I am the wisest woman you've ever met.
I am the kindest soul with whom you've connected.
I have the bravest heart that you've ever seen
And you've never met anyone
Who's as positive as I am sometimes.
You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here
I blame everyone else, not my own partaking
My passive-aggressiveness can be devastating
I'm terrified and mistrusting
And you've never met anyone as,
As closed down as I am sometimes.
You see everything, you see every part
You see all my light and you love my dark
You dig everything of which I'm ashamed
There's not anything to which you can't relate
And you're still here
What I resist, persists, and speaks louder than I know
What I resist, you love, no matter how low or high I go
I'm the funniest woman that you've ever known
I'm the dullest woman that you've ever known
I'm the most gorgeous woman that you've ever known
And you've never met anyone
Who is as everything as I am sometimes
You see everything (you see everything), you see every part (you see every part )
You see all my light (you see all my light) and you love my dark (and you love my dark )
You dig everything (you dig everything) of which I'm ashamed (of which I'm ashamed)
There's not anything (there's not anything) to which you can't relate (to which you can't relate)
And you're still here
(You see everything, you see every part)
And you're still here
(You see all my light and you love my dark)
And you're still here
(You dig everything of which I'm ashamed)
(There's not anything to which you can't relate)
And you're still here...

"quotes"
"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness, for lovely eyes, seek out the good in people, for a slim figure, share your food with the hungry, for beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day, for poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others."
"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles."
"Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!"
"My life is not anything near perfect....bad things happen...i feel overwhelmed...situations in my life scare me...i cry....i get sad...but one thing I do know is....them more you dwell on your problems...the more you allow them to rule you and your emotions. If you have a spiritual life that is filled...peace will dance around your heart, and joy will shine like the rays of the sun into your heart....and it won't make sense to others that don't have it. But you will know that "happy" is something that there because of some circumstance ( i am happy I got a new pair of shoes......that's an example)...joy is when your heart feels happy for no outside reason...it's just there...If we meditated on spiritual nourishment...instead of meditating on our problems...talking about our problems and letting them rule our thoughts...we would be much better off."
"Being in a band you can wear whatever you want - it's like an excuse for halloween everyday."
"I want to be a guy, but I want to wear a lot of makeup."
"Sometimes you have to sacrifice your performance for high heels."
"Writing songs is super intimate. It's a bit like getting naked."
"You're always tellin' me to go out more, Go ahead, get out and see the world, But then I think, why should I? I'd rather stay home and cry."
|Nicole Richie|
"I've just gone through so much in my life that pulling my top up just doesn't seem like that big a deal."

my favourite mistakes
If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make them?
most of us are raised to see mistakes negatively, so the fear of judgment and of disappointing might be most people's emotional reaction on the idea of making a mistake...people are so afraid of the sociological norms!!! (myself included) its how we are taught...is there any way we can turn this around?
i made lots of mistakes yay!!! my friends know which ones are my favourite :D

all cried out?
went to the beach last night with every intention of blowing off steam...but after few sips... 'someone' ended up cryin and throwing bottles on the rocks!!! oh yeah it rocks! especially when you're with 'great friends' - but...truth always hurts! and everyone knows...it just hit me again while watching supernatural before i left the house, hence the fb status...well i kinda cried a bit on one scene (i know, right? crying over supernatural ha ha) where a possessed john was talking to dean and here's the exact words:
You know, you fight and you fight for this family, but the truth is….they don’t need you. Not like you need them. Sam—he’s clearly John’s favorite. Even when they fight. It’s more concern than he’s ever shown you.
courtesy of: http://www.twiztv.com/ - i lurve lurve lurve reading transcripts (always on my to do list when i used to go to work... but doesnt really have an actual work)
prolly wont make a whole lot of sense to people who doesnt watch supernatural (its the last episode of season 1)
...and obviously that someone was 'me' :D

oh what a beautiful night
my birthday that is!
I started the morning with a hot choco from Mama, kisses from my Angels and a warm shower. Then went back to sleep and was awakened by a doorbell around 12noon (that made me fall off the sofa) surprised! it was Hanna, so I went back to sleep again ha! ha!. She was trying to wake me up to go out have lunch and find a dress from BEBE, but I just couldn't be bothered :D finally woke up prolly an hour later, living room filled up with smoke, she cooked the can of corned beef she found in the kitchen cupboard hee hee lunch money saved!
Bitchness time! We went to deliver five dresses to Maylene, saw some familiar faces, the ones that i dont really like pfft. Took Hanna to City Hospital, not a biggie (just five sypmtoms of swine flu), she just needed to get a medical certificate for taking a day off on my 'day'. We waited for more than an hour! If it wasn't for the HOT DOC... it wouldn't be worth it ;-) Now we know where to go when we're sick, I know! I know! I don't usually go to the doc, but hey! now it's a different story.
Went to the grocery to pick up some items for my Chicken-Mushroom Paella (which later on turned out to be slash Biryani) and Shrimp Cocktails. Then off to Hanna's place, waited for her to finish taking a shower while she let me wash the dirty dishes *lol* Back to my place around 9ish and found myself slaving over our small kitchen. An hour and a half later, Chicken-Mushroom Paella/Biryani and Shrimp Cocktails ready to serve to those brave enough to eat them :p I had my share of cheesecake (courtesy of B!) and a glass of Skyy Melon with Melon Juice hmmm heaven.
By 1ish we were ready to hit the gay party just down the Burj Residence, the three of us wearing short shorts. As always, it was awesome! click! click! click! smile for the cam bitches!
We went home @ 5am!
* f r i d a y *
After a totally-off-my-face night, I had no choice but to wake up @ 3pm cos I needed to get ready again to celebrate with my friends who were 'available' that night at 360° in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The plan was to go to DFC and look for an alternative dress and shoes at 4pm, but that didn't materialise cos, lets face it I'm just damn lazy and takes too long to prepare. B! and I were outta door by 7pm picked up Hanna and Chito, finally reached 360° at 10! Two bottles of wine later (i poured the leftover on a Voss bottle *ha*) we went to Barasti but we were shooed off by the bouncers, they won't let anyone in after 1am, bashtards! Since some of us were starvin, me especially cos I didn't eat anythin that day we ended up in Chowking @ The Walk. Fun and laughters and more bashing! I loved it! I love my family and friends! I love those who loves me! You guys are the BEST!!!
